Feck all news

But it's been a month since I last posted. Life has continued as boring as ever, my google bomb worked :D Special thanks to Billy!

Emmmm...well I spent the entire weekend sleeping through each day, cos I was sick, then watching Stargate SG-1 all night, cos it's brilliant.

Michael Shanks goes on the list, is all I have to say...actually, I think he's now top of it...sorry Brad!

Btw..how come all the good men are already taken?! :((

PS: Just in case you don't understand the list, here's the first google hit I found with anything to do with it!

Yayness..

So things are picking up round aboot these parts! Work finally has stuff for me to do so I'm not spending all my days in abject misery. ....Pity it's just programming macros in Excel.

My laptop's fixed, YAY!!! :D Thanks to Daidie, the bestest of the best!! In the end we had to delete the Linux partition...then he ran like a charm...alas, fair Linux, we loved thee well! Since then I've been catching up on Farscape, what a show! :D

Nova Rock's all paid off, I have tickets to Metallica and Opeth before I go and all sorts of shenanigan's and hi-jinks are to be expected :D It's gonna be awesome!

Our trip is:
Flying from Dublin to London
Staying overnight in Stansted Airport
(To quote Dermo.."We have tents!!")
Flying from London to Bratslavia
Then hopping on trains and buses all the way from there to Nickelsdorf
It'll take two days to get there and two days to get back. During that time we won't be staying in any hostels...the concert's a three day camping affair...I *will* smell!!

...Remind me never to let Dermo organise our travel plans again...

Owie my Fruitbasket!

Sentiments from Monday. Thank Christ I had the day off work...and considering he died for me to have that, make it a literal thanks!

I gave up alcohol for Lent, yes, it was foolish, no, I didn't save a pile of money, and maybe...I think it was a mistake. After a few pints on Sunday, I *knew* it to be a mistake! My tolerance for booze has plummeted! I only had aboot 5/6 pints before leaving the table to go talk to God through the porcelain telephone. Granted I hadn't eaten all day, but generally I can get to 8/9 pints before being wasted and get up to 12/14 before puking sets in :( (and that's light-weight for an Irish girl, I'm a vodka drinker, give me a bottle of that and watch me go all night!) So Niall bundled me into a taxi and I went home, where I did the toilet to bed to toilet circlet for the rest of the night...yay! :/

My flatmate was, of course, most supportive. He hadn't expected me back and was quite shaken to hear noises coming from my room at 2am. So...
Kev: "Are you alright?!!"
Me: "...Noooo"
Kev: "OK so, goodnight!"
Such a blessing of a guy :D

Monday was spent sitting on the couch. They had Star Trek movies and Charmed marathons on all day, so I watched way too much of them..with my glasses off because they hurt my eyes. I had the beautiful internal monologue of "I will not puke...I will not puke" running through my head for the day and my stomach felt like a truck had just crashed into it at 60mph.

All in all...it wasn't the best of returns to Dublin I could have hoped for...but at least I got a Baby Guinness :D mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

Good Ideas

Literally, I'm tempted to tie this girl up in our basement with 1,000 monkeys and 1,000 typewriters for 1,000 days just to discover what else she's got up her sleeve!

[moonbeam] we should have a vodka jelly and creme egg party

Not to be complaining or anything but....

SONUVA FUCKEN BUTT MONKEY!!!!!!!!!!! >:(

*kicks random objects*

If somebody wouldn't mind terribly going over and blowing up the Revenue, and possibly my Payroll Office, I'd be very grateful and quite chuffed? Please? Thank you? Maybe?!

Yet again, the fucken sons of bitches have decided to give me money for no reason. "Oooohhh, gooooodie!!" you might say. NO! That's what the shaggen Tax Office says as they steal that extra cash, and a bit on the side, so I get nothing but headaches, rage and confusion!! Now, I'm not saying my Payroll is directly responsible, I'm not saying the Tax Office is directly responsible...I *am* saying that those two fuckers are in cahoots in an evil plan, possibly involving laundering funds, most definitely involving PISSING ME OFF!!

Can I not have an indeterminate time involving getting paid and taxed what I'm supposed to be (or at least what I'm used to being paid/taxed) without having to now take time out of work and go queue in the Tax Office for the next week to get this mess sorted out!! (and when I say week, no I'm not exaggerating, no matter how much crap and documentation and shite you bring with you to those *evil* holes, you've never brought everything! Those bastards LOVE making you go home and come back and queue the next day!! Even when you do have everything, they might decide not to actually see you, you'll get to talk to the queue monkey for a minute before being sent home (I know this from personal experience)) FUCKERS!!!! >:(

*pants and regains vital air*

Sorry...needed a bit of a rant there....all systems will return to calm now...calm...BUTT MONKEYS!!!!!!!!!! .....now

*relaxed sigh*

Happy Days are here again!

I've come to the terrible realisation..my mood is completely and totally effected by the weather. Over the last couple of weeks I've felt totally like crap. I've been particularily down and had loadsa paranoia. I love my form of paranoia, I don't think everyone hates me/is out to get me, instead, I think all of my friends hate me and are really annoyed by me. When I get into these moods I generally remove myself and ostracize myself from goings-ons due to feeling like I don't belong/that everyone's annoyed that I'm there. I know I have very little to base those feelings on but that still doesn't make me feel any better or make me act any saner. Take the fact that for the last few weeks I've been treating my flatmates like crap for shits-and-giggles...whoops! Sorry guys...bad weather, y'know? I also tend to feel like my life is going nowhere and that nothing I do is going to get me to a place where I'll be happier..and I know it's not PMS before you even *dare* suggest it, as that never takes this long...

It is REALLY. FUCKEN. ANNOYING!! I. HATE. EMO!!! >:(

Thankfully, I feel ... well, wonderful today. Just being out in the sunshine made me feel so much better, walking aboot with my head in the clouds, feeling I can do anything, like I have a whole lifetime of joy ahead of me, rakes of opportunities and a buttload of friends on whom to call whenever I need them...

Stoopid damn weather stoopid controlling my thoughts/actions...Yay for sunshine, boo for crappy Irish weather...etc, etc, I'm gonna go back out in the sun now before lunch is over :D

I'm. Feeling. Like. Crap.

I dunno, must be all the late nights and early mornings I keep having. As well as having to run around with a wet head as I don't have time to dry my hair. Why can't offices understand that I'm a night-owl?! I enjoy staying up til 5am arsing aboot and doing feck all! Unfortunately, due to "work", I can't :/ It's very annoying!

Take last night for instance, I was playing FF. It took me an hour and a half (plus two large bosses and aboot eight minor ones) to reach the next save point, all the while considering the fact that I told myself I'd be asleep over an hour beforehand...at that point I wasn't even enjoying the game!

One game I do enjoy however, and I suffered for it by having my boots caked in so much mud I'll probably never get to wear them to work, was paintballing! :D Oh fill me up with utter sunshine and send me hurtling over to splatter on my friends and give them colourful lumps that take a week to disappear!! It was fan-fucking-tastic!! (Also, as you may have guessed, my first time ;)) All sorts of killage, myself and Billy teamed up to great effect and our team won! There was hiding, kamikaze-ing (mainly by Dermo, Sean and Joe...alas poor Joe, we knew him well...until he went running into the killzone and was hit at close range by at least 4 guns going off spectacularly...he fell to the ground in agony ;D), dying, crawling through mud rambo style, the lot!! (I was the person caked in more mud than paint by the end, it actually soaked through all of the khaki gear and left me looking a disgrace heading back into town...hehe).

So when we got into town, away to the pub! Here I made a very bad mistake....I talked to a Polish dude. His very *very* drunk Polish friend (who looked an utter scumbag, had no English, was shorter than me by at least an inch, had bad hair, etc, etc, etc) decided that he should chat me up...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Eventually he managed to stagger out the sentence "is..is your he-heart..is it free?". Thanks for the way out buddy! He was met with a firm "no!". (Yes, I may be a bitch...but it was the easiest way out). I went back inside, to my friend Dermo, and managed to persuade him, by way of beer, which apparently is cheating, to pretend to be my fella for the night! :D This was, of course, hilarious! Poor guy didn't know what hit him (and no, there was no scoring or any such thing, just lots of cuddling close and him berating me for being an "evil whore") ;) He loved the affection, really!!

Back home I eventually headed on the dear old Luas! Whilst heading for it I noticed a paddy wagon and an unmarked car parked there. Some BanGardai were out talking to a few scumbags, but when the Luas arrived they hopped in their car and steamed off (crimes to fight and whatnot). What was also amusing was that when our Luas arrived at the stop, the security guard, who's supposed to be on it late at night...got off?!! We were halfway home when the brawl broke out. Three guys piling on one, a fourth trying to join in but the fifth mate was holding him back. I looked on with the usual Dublin blaisè attitude, until the fight started to move towards me. All the guys sitting near me, as one, got up and went to the other end of the Luas. I wasn't hanging around for this shit, so I joined them. In the midst of this mass exodus, a little pink bombshell of a lady comes running down the Luas, pushing us all out of her way and into the middle of the fight, shrieking at the top of her lungs. I felt this would take a while so grabbed a seat beside a hot young chap who was far too young for me and we both started slagging off the foreigners who hadn't a clue what was going on.

Good on that lady, she broke up the fight! She let them have it with a good tongue lashing while some random man stepped forward and dragged the one guy, who'd been pummelled, the hell out of there and further up the Luas. From the screaming she was doing at the other guys it turned out that the fecken eegit had decided to pick a fight with *five* guys and throw the first punch! Then, his face covered in blood, being protected by some random guy, he jumped around him to leap back into the fight, this time restarting it around the woman (and her sister who'd joined in). It was hilarious! Well, it was terrible...but c'mon, all the guys were trying to aim their punches around the women while the women utilised their handbags and shrieked at the top of their lungs :D

Eventually the Gardai showed up, the three guys legged it, the women got to bitch to everyone who'd listen aboot "three on one isn't fair" and we all got to go home, just in time for work the next day :/

I'm not even gonna go into the weekend!

Dru...THEY GOT ME WRONG!!!

Then again, everyone thinks I'm older than I actually am...maye I act mature or something? .....Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!

You Are 24 Years Old

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

Men...

I've decided I have well and truely had enough of them...

Take the conversation I had with my flatmate this morning when I forgot to set my alarm, awoke and couldn't find my phone and hence the time:

ME: "What time is it?"
HIM: "Late!"
ME: "No, I've lost my phone, what is the actual time?!"
HIM: "Quarter to."
ME: "Quarter to what??!!"
HIM: "Nine."

How damn obfuscated must you get?! Obviously if someone asks the time, they'd like to know the time, please? Thank you? If it's not too much bother?? Not *your* version of the state of the time, but the actual time!

Also, men are disgusting...conversations aboot zits and verucas ... just aren't pleasant while I'm trying to have my morning coffee... :/

A whole lotta metal..

Saint Patrick's Day went without too many hitches. I ended up in the proverbial arsehole of nowhere, otherwise known as Ivan's place, for shits, giggles and double vodkas. We ended up back at some random house party, which wasn't so much a house party as a hall party (yes, they somehow squished aboot 20 ppl into the hall of a house and wouldn't let them go any further...). Then back to Ivan's, I *may* have *accidentally* fought with Katie, something aboot me being mean and her having a big head....I'm not exactly sure what caused that...and I got to sleep aboot half 6.

The next day was spent arsing aboot Rathcoole and having fights using mandarins as ammo. Then into town we went and off to see Dragonforce. Thanks to my brother and a lovely lady who gave me two tickets, I was enroute! To be honest...I went primarily to spite Niall, who loves Dragonforce but flew out of Dublin that day. He was so bitter...it was hilarious!! >:D In the end however, I had a really good time! They're most definitely a band who go all out to "put on a show" and they do!! Plus...the fucken pit was huge!! >:D All sorts of getting me in there!! Hehe, funny story, one of the guys with me, doesn't know me all that well, I was to one side, looking on at the pit and choosing a target...he flung me behind him and made me stay there to keep me safe cos he didn't want me to get hurt, he was trying to protect me! Sweet and all as this effort was, as Dermo so eloquently put it "DUDE!! You shoulda been tryin' to protect the pit FROM HER!!" :D

After Dragonforce, along we went to Fibbers, to arrive just in time to see Silent Conflict go onstage. Now I've seen these guys before, and let me say that they were good then, and they've *hugely* improved since! It may have been caused by seeing Dragonforce ten mins before going in, but everyone was raged up and away! Fibbers dance floor is quite small so just enough space for a mayhem pit. I claimed tiredness and mostly stayed moshing to myself out of it...this being said, once or twice some lessons had to be taught and a few skulls bashed, mine included :/

After they were done, Mike Got Spiked went on...now, these guys are getting a bit of a rep around Dublin, probably deserved, I can't say. They got more ppl up to see them than Silent Conflict, however I believe this is their devoted following I've been hearing a lot aboot. Silent Conflict however were well able to appeal to those fresh from Dragonforce and get the room shaking some more! I even bought their album! Truth be told, it's disappointing :( Only four songs, when I wanted to hear much more of them, and the sound on it is off. Well, not that I'd be a good judge of it or anything...I suppose I'm biased because they sounded so much better live! There's no way a CD could live up to that! I was still well chuffed with it though as I managed to get four of the six guys to sign it! :D Three cheers to that girl who somehow managed to have a silver pen on her!!

Em...that's it...other than that I spent ~30hrs watching Stargate, my thanks to Kev who lent me his laptop whilst he was away. I woke up on Sunday with 12+ assorted bruises, an aching back and neck, and no voice, thanks be to Silent Conflict and Dragonforce (damn Dragonforce and losing my voice within the first ten mins...I wanted to scream for longer...). Now I'm back in work and have little to do...remind me to pay for Nova Rock this week... w0000000000000000000000000000t!!! :D

Nothing of note

Exactly as it says on the tin folks, I'm just bored in work so decided to have a wee ramble here, hey, isn't that what I created a blog for?!

Played quasar over the weekend, they changed the rules!! >:( I was very *very* annoyed! I spent the whole time going for the base only to discover that:
A) Shooting the base no longer gives you points
B) The fucken thing shoots back!! (I was wondering what that buzzing was....)

Ah well, forgive me while I plaster on a fake smile and plough through this shit one more time.

Riots in Dublin...what a time to go to Waterford

Dunno what's up with the server, but blogspot is going up and down like yer ma. *Conscientiously moves her typing to a separate textfile* cos there's nothing more annoying...

I was arsing aboot online today and indulging in my own personal paranoias, I found some new joy in the online world... HAH HAH HAH!! IDIOTS!!!

Moving swiftly on, yesterday was a load of fun! I fed aboot 12 ppl pancakes, and all was merry and good. A deck of cards *mysteriously* appeared and a game of Kings ensued. Some rules were altered slightly:
Six: is now the mirror card, you get five drinks sent your way that you don't want, send them right back where they came from (this card was used once over the course of three games, but what a usage! Niall nearly cried :D)
Seven: is hands rule, raise your hand over your head, last one to do it, etc.
Eight: rock out or get out! (you have to rock out til the end of the current song)
Jack: is word association
Ace: you only get to invent one new rule..
Some of the new rules were royal bastards! Such as:
Every time someone picks up a red card, everybody drinks (Steve)
Every time someone picks up a black card, everybody drinks (was where it really went downhill, thanks for that one Niall :P)
Every time someone yells Dermo, Dermo has to drink (Ivan?)
Dermo can only have every second drink he's allocated (evil Mark >;P)
Every time someone says yes/no that person has to drink (Dermo? It was used to get around his limited drinking, a-yes yes!)
Gentleman's rules were called into play at one point (Don't have a clue who by, possibly Niall, no-one may be referred to by their first name, abbreviations are not to be tolerated and no swearing, anyone failing in this will have to drink, such a pity ;))
Every time someone says social, everybody has to drink (nice one Ivan)
Every time someone tells a Chuck Norris joke, everyone has to drink
The last was another of Steve's additions....it turned out fantastically, by which I mean we all got horribly drunk! By the end of the game we weren't even telling Chuck Norris jokes anymore, we were just saying random jumbles of words containing Chuck Norris and social and then everyone was slugging alcohol down! These last two rules, though supposedly only having scope in the current game, were so good (or we were so drunk as to not notice the ending of one game and starting of another) they got carried over into more games...I think they should become a permanent feature :D

What else...ummmmmmm....I bought pretty new trousers for the Staind concert this evening :) *dances like a little girl* They're a pair of black combats with flaming skulls on the sides, black chains hanging from them and tatters pieces of black cloth (supposedly to tie into chains attached to the trousers) also attached. They're very new Metal, I'm almost ashamed, I would be too, if they weren't so *cute*!! XD Besides which, tis Staind, I think I'll be fine....

Niall's been telling me I use the word "so" too much and proceeded to point out texts/IMs were I used it twice in the one sentence...must cut down on that sorta thing...but I like the word "so"!! :(

Busy week both before and behind me...
Last Friday: Went to UGC and watching Lady Vengence (taking UGC's spelling... ;)) and Lucky Number Slevin, both *remarkably* good, even though I hadn't even heard of Lady Vengence before going in and probably wouldn't have gone in to see a subtitled movie, I'm glad I did
Last weekend: Waterford, Brazil's 21st
Monday night: Brazil's 21st, The Longstone, involving Fat Frogs and Tequila shots; one tequila, two tequila, three tequila, *floor*
Tuesday night: Pancake party, I was hosting it at Mark and Dermo's place
Wednesday night: Staind concert
Thursday night: Netsoc meeting then going to the cinema with Audrey and Michael
Friday: Possibility of going to the ModLang reception, probably going home to take apart Dagon
Saturday: Wavehunt, myself and my flatmate won 100e each last year, however, with Dagon out of commission I'm only able to be a spectator :(

Yes, you heard me :( Dagon has some form of failure. I believe it's travel sickness, my poor baby hates being dragged down to Waterford. He worked fine in Dublin, but when I tried to boot him up he couldn't reach his Grub menu, instead filling the screening with 01 repeating. I can access the BIOS and a few tests later show that there's some sort of fault with the hd, or something within that vicinity. He won't even boot from a live disc :( We tried knoppix 3.1.2 (I think, not certain of the version, it was the only thing I had on hand) and could get the knoppix logo screen, but when Dave tried to boot it the screen went black and froze like that. He tried several times to get it to work, using failsafe mode and explicitly telling Dagon not to go near his hds while booting, to no avail :( I've still got a few things I can try...next in line is getting Dave to help me take Dagon apart and see if anything rattled loose or is somewhere it shouldn't be. I'd do it myself but....Dagon's my baby!! If I inadvertently hurt him...such as dragging him all the way down to Waterford when I knew he didn't want to go....I'd never forgive myself! :(

And NO, I'm not crazy...I just love my laptop, that's all...I form these types of bonds with a lot of the electronics I own: my PS, my PS2, my phone (when it's not annoying me)...Hell! I bought a blender and hugged it the whole way home since I'd never had one before!! (Ivan was well freaked out, kept muttering under his breath then screaming "IT'S A FUCKEN BLENDER FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!") However, Dagon is special, for starters, he has a name. Also, he allows me to be online wherever and whenever I want, this is very important to me...being a nerd, the www is one of my few forms of human contact. He lets me play games...granted my PS and PS2 do this as well, but the graphics just aren't the same...but most of all...he gives me warez, I watch so many movies and series on that laptop it's not even funny, I wouldn't be bothered watching them on TV yet I'll sit in my room and watch them on Dagon....I want him back!! Now!! I hadn't even finished watching two series of StarGate!! :((

Groggy

I made an effort to be nice yesterday, so I stopped and talked to one of those charity ppl who are always trying to sign you up...yes, I can be nice and no, it wasn't *entirely* based on the guy being cute ;) Long story short, I still managed to avoid signing up, though he did get me to jump on the spot..

After that fiasco, I proceeded to the pub. Several enlightening conversations later, including my flatmates picking up the habit of punching women in the breasts (in an effort to make their breasts larger.....no, seriously!) I proceeded to TBMC and a charity Stars In Their Eyes. Niall was playing guitar, Ivan was running around doing tech and a few more ppl I knew were clustering aboot. Turned out to be a good night, made even better by the DJ afterwards who started into TV theme tunes. The delicate strands of Fraggle Rock, the hardy tones of The A-Team and the gradually expanding beats of Captain Planet were heard engulfing us all. And we danced.

Unfortunately I didn't complete the night but went home to get up bright and early for work the next day....hence being groggy right now, why didn't I fully enjoy student life while I had the chance??!! :(

ZZZZzzzzz....

Ever get one of those days? Where all you wanna do is sleep...and sleep.....and possibly sleep some more? That's exactly how this day is going. For this, I completely blame Niall. Any time that bastard and myself "go for one" we end up aboot 2am heading back to one or the other's place then staying up half the night, after sobering up on pizza or some other junk food on the way home, watching movies/series/stuff we've ripped that week. This is all well and good and enjoyable until the next morning when inevitably I have to get up, go in, say goodbye to Niall, watch the bastard go back to sleep and leave. It's that part that really bugs me...if only he had to get up and suffer like I do!! Is it too much to ask for?! My desk currently looks akin to a huge fluffy pillow, and my chair could almost be a giant four poster bed...maybe I'm delusional..but so's YORE MA!!

Three points of note

1. I am so intensely bored in work that I'm currently being entertained by aboot ten little screen mate sheep.

2. w00t! I'm top of the netris board!! (Please note: this position is both coveted and fleeting ... and only exists in the world of our private server where there's multi-player tetris across the net, cool? I know! ;P)

3. Coughing up big hard lumps of flem is not a pleasant experience *takes more relief-giving drugs*

Now - back to other matters .... WAKE UP SHEEP!!! (at this point in time I moved the mouse and the bastards all woke up as one .... hehe >:D)

Total and utter fucken gack!

Is the only way to describe my morning!

The weekend of fun and frolics was well underway and didn't have too many hitches! It ended up starting a day early, totally not my fault! For this one, I'm blaming Niall! I went for one drink, ended up at the St V. de P. children of the 90's table quiz, then at the Longstone, then Doyles and finally back to Niall's at 2am to watch Serenity. Serenity is still SO. FUCKEN. GOOD. Went to sleep aboot 5am, though when I say sleep I actually mean lie awake for a few hours feeling my hangover getting worse and worse. Then it got even better! Cos I'm generally used to going to sleep under several layers of duvets, quilts and throwovers, Niall's spare room was just too cold for me! So I woke up feeling hungover and sick .... yay!

Fast forward a few hours and I'm zooming through city center, grabbing panadol on the way, to get home/showered/changed and then back in to go to the pub. I arrived there at 2ish, and proceeded to drink for the day :) Drank for 12hrs, was fairly sober since I was on vodka (the blessed spirit) and headed home.

Slept a few hours, got up, packed off my still drunk mate to his morning tutorial (insert evil laugh) and began cleaning. *THIS* is the important bit!! I spent 6hrs cleaning (as per usual when I've been drinking vodka) and now I can see the top of my desk!! A feat not accomplished since I moved into my flat in Sept! Needless to say, it stayed clean for approximately an hour before ppl started showing up for the house party, after which, it was a lost cause.. *sigh*

So Saturday was spent mostly in bed...I attempted to clean, my flatmates kindly took over the rest while I went back to bed. I managed to get up and head into town and out for a few drinks, but mitched off early and went home to sleep for 9hrs.

Then came the fun day...Sunday.. I'd gotten 9hrs sleep, the most sleep I'd gotten since Tuesday. Then my body decided that it'd let loose that headcold I picked up on Wednesday (yes, we'd all hoped to have forgotten that by now). I spent the day in bed, sleeping now and again, got 11hrs sleep that night and still could barely move this morning. I feel that gack!! Stoopid headcold >:( Couldn't even take today off work since I'd taken a long weekend, so now my co-workers are stuck listening to me sniffle all day, it's their own tough luck!

All in all, twas good craic, I even got a mention in Drastic, from Gill obviously since Adam hates me ;) Also, I got some very nice pressies, thankee guys!! :D

Birthday Fun

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Trying to organise something ... ANYTHING ... is a nightmare which should never again be attempted! I *thought* I'd organised everything perfectly ... until I got let down :( People suck and will always let you down. Note: this may not be true, I'm just annoyed. Take this for instance, just for instance, I asked someone three weeks ago to get stuff for my party, all fully arranged, I get paid the 30th of January, if you could have it for me then twould be swell and you have three weeks! Of course this person then turned around, sat on his arse for three weeks, left it til the last minute and now won't have time to get it! >:( I have no time to organise other entertainment!! >:( (ok, you guessed it, I wanted a hot male stripper). It truly sucks!

Apart from that I do believe everything else is going to plan...all the invites have been sent, dunno who's gonna go to anything, my flatmates are well appraised of the situation, I've taken two days off work ... now comes the fun with the birthday cake. I, according to friends who I say are wrong, have no cooking skills. In fact I have been told that they won't eat any cake that I had a hand in cooking. So I'm left with the task of finding a cook. Fine, grand, my brother's a good cook, he's baking my birthday cake (I like homemade cake, I can add as much chocolate as I want :D). Now, if only I knew when he was baking it, I'd be all set! We've had aboot three discussions on the baking of it, and have alternated between cooking it Wednesday or Friday so many times that I've lost track and now I don't know when the damn thing's being made >:( Gah! Tis a nightmare and no mistake ... and I had everything planned so perfectly :(

Aside from that, my tax got sorted, w00t! I got paid, double w00t! I get to finally do c++ in work and get away from evil VB, triple w00t!! And I have three days of partying coming up! :D Drunken w00oooooo00000oooooooooot!!

Hehe, poor planet readers who get dumped with a huge big update deelie! ;P Good thing I don't blog too often!

Snail mail...

....SUCKS!!! Oh man I am so annoyed with things at the moment!

So, I left the college job in November and entered the real working world. I have had a couple of ups and downs but overall things are good! Then, after aboot a month, I noticed that I still hadn't received a p45 (Irish way of reclaiming tax) from my previous employer. HELLO! Big problem!

Due to the payroll ppl in my last job being freeloaders (they work 4.5hrs per day) I had to resort to emails and phone calls to them, repeatedly! When I finally got through to them in mid December I was told that they'd send it out to me but that I wouldn't receive it until the second week or so of the New Year. O.K. I can deal with that, as long as I get the blasted thing. I sent them an email (actually, two or three emails, the entire college staff should all know where I live by now) with my address to post it to and went to the tax office.

So I'm at the tax office, and I've sat through all the queues and made my way to the desk with the tax person who's gonna fix my life and make sure I don't lose half my paycheque to emergency tax. Predicament No. 1: "So...your last employer was Wallis' shop?" "Em...no, I've been working for college for the last six months?" "We have no record for that, your last employment was Wallis!" "I left Wallis a year ago!". At which point the butting of foreheads began. When we eventually got it sorted that I'd been working for the last six months without their knowledge (and still paying normal tax), we moved on to the problem at hand. Predicament No. 2: I had no p45 and Predicament No. 3: it was too late in the tax year to get anything done. She was very adamant aboot that and very disapproving of me for bothering her so late in the tax year as she could do nothing aboot my emergency tax because it was so late in the tax year!! >:( Fucken snobby up-her-hole bitch....

*Anyways* upshot of it all was that I'd be emergency taxed on my coming paycheque (but you pay very little for the first four weeks so you should be fine! Yeah right, lying cow...) and she was sending a tax credit form to my current employer which meant that I wouldn't be emergency taxed after the 31st of December. All sorted, yay!

...No, not really. I waited for that p45, it never came.. The college managed to get my address wrong...All they had to do was copy and paste from my email, print it out and send it! And they messed up. Imagine the following is my address:

Apt. 1,
FleetWood Apartments,
Fakestreet,
Fakeplace,
City 8.

They left out the apartment name...they put in the apartment number, but didn't think that it would need a name.... To make this even more absurd, I got a totally unrelated letter today which was sent to:

Wrongstreet
Apt. 1,
City.

WTF??? *It* managed to get through and was COMPLETELY wrong and my p45 didn't?!! This totally sucks! Also, the post office told me they basically had no way of tracing the letter...

So, after that day on the phone trying to find my p45, and final payslip from college, which they also managed to lose, I got a call from my current payroll informing me that I was still being emergency taxed. Now, if you've read this far, you may have noticed that being sorted out *well* back before Christmas!! Rightio! Impromptu trip back to the tax office to wait for 45mins in a queue then be sent away without having talked to an actual tax person, just the counter guy. This counter guy, who may have been cute if I wasn't foaming at the mouth for tax related blood, told me that my tax credit form had been sent (late), would be received soon, but wouldn't stop me being emergency taxed on this month's pay...

I'd 20% of my pay stolen from me last time, now it's going to be 42%! How the hell am I supposed to pay rent! Since I started working I've gotten poorer!! This working thing really isn't cutting it...I think we should all just go home and sleep...um...forever!

Durshka out!
