Boredom, you have made me reach new lows

So, at the moment, *all* of my friends are considering making webcomics...but their webcomics are detailed, and well drawn...probably not so well thought out but...they're getting there!

Anyhews, after listening to the Little Gamers give a talk on how their comic is aboot taking the piss out of their friends, how they come up with ideas at random and how they can't draw to save their lives ... I thought "I could do that!"

Well, truth is I'm far too lazy, plus there's the problem with not being able to draw, although I'm certain improvement would be had, improvement from nothing ain't all that great... However, I've been reading through Machall's archives too. One style of drawing which Ian McConville employs isn't all that difficult. I know that mine wouldn't be quite so good, or even a quarter as good...but it could have potential...

Lastly, I think I could get a years supply out of things Ivan has said in the last ten minutes, to anyone! (including his ma) so jokes wouldn't be a problem....

Then again, I'd have to get over supreme laziness and actually set up a domain deelie...and pay money for it :( Hrmmm....google ads.... *ahem* but it'd be effort...

Without further ado, here be the first mock-up, very mock-up, MSPaint (it's all I've got in work) mock-up .... oh, and it also totally rips off this. Let's hope Adam doesn't mind! Especially if I give him some shameless plugs :D

Awesome-ness

Opeth were awesome! That's all that can be said. Yesterday was the third time I've seen them this year, and they were amazing again!

Unfortunately there were some drawbacks, namely, the crowd. Now, I don't mean all of the crowd, just ... a select few .... who all seemed to be standing around us.

There were the two annoying girls standing behind me who chattered constantly aboot the most mundane rubbish whilst the lead singer was cracking jokes. I turned and looked at them once or twice and they shut up, but continued on soon afterwards (apparently I can give dirty looks, I personally don't think I can).

Then, the ravers. A gang of aboot five guys and two girls. They were completely out of place, bar the girls, who seemed to be the only reason the guys went to an Opeth gig in the first place. Seriously, not a clue had they! On one occasion, I had cleared myself a nice wee headbanging space (apparently I headbang using the "thrust", meh, it stops my neck from falling to bits the next day, and it's not antisocial if I have my space..), when one of those buffoons decided to crowd in on it! No bother, I carried on knowing that he'd clear me some room in a bit, when I saw a fist coming towards me! Instant taekwondo guard up and a swift right straight for his ribs, but I pulled it because either he was just locking fists with his buddy, or his buddy had stopped him from punching me. I'm still not sure which, but after that he cleared a space for me and I carried on with my guard up. After this, one of the couples had the *nerve* to start necking during Windowpane! Honestly, that is a beautiful song, very melodic and gentle and just ... beautiful! Yet all I could see during it was two people sucking the faces off of each other! If I had a guy I was dating in an Opeth gig, and he did that to me, he'd be punched! Later on, that chick fecked off to the jacks (with waaaaaaay more hand gestures than necessary) and left yer man by himself. He started doing his own little rave dance, poking his finger in the air and moving his hands in a zig-zag manner...dude! That shit's gonna get you killed at a metal gig!

Long story short...I love Ivan :D In 3 mins, between the pair of us, all those annoying little shits got taken out! I turned to Ivan, we bounced off of each other, I bounced off of eof and used the momentum to bounce into the annoying loud-mouths behind me. According to eof, I didn't hit him all that hard, but I sent those two girls flying! >:) In this space of time, Ivan had crashed through the couple in front of him and a few of their friends, so I galloped after him, crashing into the couple on the left and the guy who'd tried to punch me and sending them flying. Then we were right past and had a straight line through to the center and the pit.

It was magical!

Hello officer, isn't it a nice evening?

It's funny how some things will remind you of other things. Take just now, for instance, when opening a bag of dry roasted peanuts, I couldn't help but notice that they smelt exactly like peanut butter.

In other news, I'm hungover as fuck.

The gig last night

On crowdsurfing:
Crowdsurfing is great, but guys, don't ask the girl beside you to give you a hoist up, I may be strong for a girl, but I'm not Xena! If this girl is nice, and laughs in your face whilst getting some other guys to help her hoist you up, do *NOT* leap up and throw both your knees directly into the air! Knees connecting with chins do not make for a pleasant taste in my mouth after I've bitten a chunk of flesh out of either side of my tongue.

On Dermo:
What can I say, the man's an idiot!

On Gill:
I didn't see her during the gig, I can only assume that she was hidden near the bar cradling a whiskey whilst singing offkey.

On my brother:
Beast of the pit.

On his friend:
What a shame, what a shame.

On the guy who sold him a seated ticket instead of standing:
Arsehole!

On the bouncers who wouldn't let him downstairs:
Bastards!

On the stupid American bitch I fucked across the pit:
You were annoying, it was funny, get over it!

On the drunken Celtic fans who thought they were hard men at the start of the gig:
I hope you've learned your lesson now.

On the pit in general:
Brilliant effort one and all!

On the big guy in the white t-shirt with glasses:
Congrats, but fuck me! You were big!

On the guy I teamed up with to shove the big guy with glasses away every time he came near us:
Thanks!

On the girls who got up on stage and giggled whilst looking out of place:
Pfft! Wusses!

On the guys who stopped all moshing even though there was now a girl-free pit (first time all night):
For shame guys, quit yer oogling and get back to the important things!

On the guys who got up on stage:
GRRRR!!! \m/

On the idiot who stage dived:
As my brothers said:
He missed the crowd.
He missed crossing the barrier.
He didn't miss the ground.
Gravity will always give a helpful hand.

On the Dropkick Murphys:
Awesome guys, just .... awesome!

PS: On the big guy from the Slayer mosh pit who asked me if I was "staaaartin' somethin'":
Always :D

PPS: On my best friend:
Happy Birthday :)

Busy busy busy...

Firstly, since I last posted, I have learnt that you shouldn't really give small children coffee... It was amusing but um...heh heh, nah, it was amusing! ;)

Secondly, um...I'm very busy atm. It's annoying really, but in the good kind of a way! This month is my gig month. Sure, sure, I know, so was June, but have you *seen* the line-up?! Awesome! I've already been to see American Headcharge/Panic Cell/Twin Method in the Voodoo Lounge last Friday, though I arrived late and missed Twin Method. The other two I must say were quite enjoyable, unfortunately I didn't appreciate the full experience as I'd already had a good bit to drink... From what I could tell through the haze, they were good!

Saturday, I saw Borat. Although some parts of this movie were funny...it could not be saved, do NOT go to see this!! It's awful!! At times, it's painful, I did not need to disgust my eyes and brain with this thing. Some people will find this amusing, but you know what, I'm not one of them, and those who do...if you've seen it, you know what bit in particular I'm talking aboot, perverted!

Thankfully my senses were able to rectify themselves with an unplanned Nathan Fillion marathon. It started by me innocently switching channels and having a Buffy episode with him in it come on, it continued by seeing Serenity on Sky movies and finished up by staying up late to watch Slither in a mate's house.

Sunday dawned, I tidied my room some and headed into town and off to The Point Depot. Slaaaaaaayeeeeerrrr!!! Apologies, The Unholy Alliance is what I meant to say ;P I arrived in time to see Lamb of God and In Flames, possibly Children of Bodom, I was at the bar...and then on came Slayer \m/ Out to the mosh pit with me! I bumped into a guy from taekwondo I knew and away! :D It was excellent, not half long enough though, I wasn't even close to fainting when they finished up!! It was great, I'm covered in bruises, my knee is somehow fucked, but recovering *and* I got a pair of fingerless Slayer gloves!! At Download, last summer, I went around three different sales booths and the Download fingerless gloves were all gone! I was crushed (I love fingerless gloves). They were the first thing I noticed on the Slayer sales booth as I came in the door! The second thing I saw was the guy take them off the display and sell off the last pair, crushed-ness :( Thankfully, a second booth still had them, so up I galloped and them I bought! :D Happy mosher!!! :D

So, my plans for this week...well, went to see The Last Kiss last night. It was fairly predictable, but an enjoyable watch nonetheless, oh, and maybe slightly depressing...actually, it kinda reminded me of Scrubs, I know, Zach Braff is the first clue, but still..Scrubs is funny and goofy most of the time, but every now and again you're brought back to the reality of working in a hospital where things go wrong and people die.. The Last Kiss was the more serious side of Scrubs, and of Zach Braff. It was interesting, but also depressing to watch, but still, just a movie, and not Scrubs, cos Scrubs is just awesome! :D

Tonight, 'tis Dropkick's night! I've never seen them live but I've heard so much about it that I'm very *very* excited!! Here's hoping that my knee is in one piece, for apparently the moshes are insane, the music is excellent and you can KISS ME, I'M SHITFACED!!!!

Oh, and um, the rest of the week is gonna be filled with going-away parties, graduation parties, birthday parties, Christening parties, going to Waterford and being back up in time for Monday when I'll be off to see Opeth and Paradise Lost.

It's all happening in Dublin, and it's all happening now ..... 'cept for the bits that are down in Waterford....
